Terms and Conditions of Sale

Version 0.2 · last updated 24 October 2026 · under review by our Cyprus lawyer

Clauses marked Consumers apply only to consumers and clauses marked Business Customers only to business customers. Everything else applies to both. A model cancellation form is at the end of this page.

1. These terms

1.1 What these terms cover. These are the terms on which we sell pit-board® panels, samples and related products (the “Products”) through pit-to-table.com and by quotation. Please read them before you place an order.

1.2 Consumer or business? You are a “Consumer” if you are an individual buying wholly or mainly for personal use, not for your trade, business, craft or profession. Everyone else is a “Business Customer” (for example designers, fabricators, contractors, retailers and hospitality operators). Clauses that apply only to one group are marked Consumers or Business Customers. Where a clause is unclear as to whether it applies to a Consumer, it does not apply to a Consumer.

1.3 Business Customers Entire agreement. These terms, together with our order confirmation and any written quotation, are the whole agreement between us. They apply in place of any terms you try to impose, including on a purchase order. You have not relied on any statement not set out in them.

1.4 Other documents. The specification sheet (Technical Data Sheet) and the Fabrication & Maintenance Guidance for pit-board® are published on our Materials page and linked at checkout, so you can read them before you order. Business Customers By ordering you confirm you have read them.

2. Who we are and how to contact us

2.1 Who we are. We are PIT TO TABLE LTD, trading as Pit-To-Table, a private limited liability company by shares registered in the Republic of Cyprus under registration number HE 478907, with our registered office at 37 Stasikratous Street, Center Point Tower, 4th Floor, Office 401, 1065 Nicosia, Cyprus. Our VAT number is CY60199893Z.

2.2 How to contact us. Email info@pit-to-table.com or call +357 95 069003. We aim to reply to emails within 2 working days. “Writing” and “written” in these terms include email.

2.3 How we contact you. We will use the email address or postal address you gave us in your order.

3. Our contract with you

3.1 Placing an order. Your order is an offer to buy. You are responsible for checking it, including any dimensions you give us, before you submit it.

3.2 Acceptance. A contract exists only when we email you an order confirmation. An automatic acknowledgement of receipt is not acceptance. The order confirmation will attach these terms as a PDF and set out the main details of your order, including any confirmed delivery date.

3.3 If we cannot accept your order. We will tell you and will not charge you. Reasons include stock not being available, an error in the price or description, unexpected limits on production capacity, or a delivery date we cannot meet.

3.4 Quotations. A written quotation is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise. Bespoke sizes, shapes, finishes and colour mixes are supplied by quotation only.

3.5 Orders from outside the EU. We accept orders from outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, through our website for the countries listed at checkout, and otherwise by quotation. Extra costs such as import duties and local taxes may apply (see clause 7.6).

4. Our products

4.1 Every panel is unique. pit-board® is hand-cast from olive pits graded into several sizes and bound with a bio-based resin. Because the raw material is recycled agricultural waste, each panel varies in colour, tone, pit distribution, density, pore and surface texture. These variations are an inherent characteristic of the material and are not defects.

4.2 Samples and images. Samples show the character and tolerance range of a colourway. They are not an exact match for any batch. Photographs and screen colours show the typical look of the material. Panels will vary from samples, from images, and within and between production batches, as described in clause 4.1. Business Customers Images are for illustration only and do not form part of the contract.

4.3 Dimensions and tolerances. Listed sizes (for example 1400 × 1000 × 18 mm) are nominal. Length, width, thickness, flatness and weight are subject to the tolerances stated in the Technical Data Sheet. Panels may carry minor surface features such as small voids, pit pull-out or tool marks within those tolerances. Product falling within the published tolerances conforms to the contract. For Consumers, this applies where you have accepted these characteristics under clause 4.8.

4.4 Ordering for one project. To keep variation consistent across a project, order all panels needed in a single order. We cannot guarantee that a later order will match an earlier one.

4.5 Your measurements. Where we cut or make Products to sizes, drawings or specifications you supply, you are responsible for their accuracy.

4.6 Suitability for your use. pit-board® is a decorative panel for interior use. The intended uses of each Product, such as tabletops, countertops, shelving and wall panels, are stated on its product page and in the Technical Data Sheet. Products must be finished, fabricated and maintained in line with the Fabrication & Maintenance Guidance. Business Customers Unless we have confirmed a specific purpose in writing, you are responsible for deciding whether the Product is suitable for your application, including structural support, fire performance, building regulations, food contact and exterior or high-heat use.

4.7 Packaging. Packaging may differ from that shown on our website.

4.8 Consumers Your acceptance of natural variation. Before you pay, we will ask you to confirm, in a separate step at checkout, that you have been told and accept that your Product is hand-made from recycled olive pits and will differ from images and samples in colour, tone, pit distribution and surface texture, and may vary in size, thickness and flatness within the tolerances in the Technical Data Sheet. These characteristics, once you have accepted them, do not make the Product faulty.

5. Intellectual property

5.1 We own all intellectual property rights in our website, the pit-board® name and brand, our recipes and processes, and our Products, including Products made to your specification. Texture files downloaded from our website may be used for design visualisations of projects that specify pit-board® and may not be resold or redistributed.

5.2 Business Customers If we make Products to a design or specification you supply, you will indemnify us against any claim that our use of it infringes a third party’s rights.

5.3 Business Customers Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, you agree we may name your organisation as a customer and show completed projects using our Products in our marketing, crediting you.

6. Changes

6.1 Changes you ask for. Contact us if you want to change an order. Once production has started, changes are often not possible. If a change is possible, we will confirm any change to price or timing before going ahead.

6.2 Changes we may make. We may make minor changes to the Products to reflect changes in law or to make minor technical improvements that do not materially affect their use or appearance.

7. Price and payment

7.1 Price. The price is the one shown on the order page or in your quotation when you order, in euro (EUR), excluding VAT. Delivery is charged separately and shown before you confirm your order. For deliveries within the EU we add Cyprus VAT at 19% on the goods and the delivery charge; it is shown as a separate line, and the total price including VAT is shown before you pay. If our sales to consumers in other EU countries exceed the EU distance-selling threshold, we will charge VAT at the rate of the delivery country. Deliveries outside the EU are VAT-free (see clause 7.6). Business Customers in another EU Member State who give us a valid VAT number are invoiced without Cyprus VAT under the reverse-charge rules.

7.2 VAT changes. If the VAT rate changes between your order and delivery, we will adjust the VAT you pay, unless you have already paid in full.

7.3 Pricing errors. If the correct price is lower than shown, we charge the lower price. If it is higher, we will contact you before accepting the order. If we accept an order where the error was obvious and could reasonably have been recognised by you, we may end the contract and refund what you have paid.

7.4 How and when to pay. We accept card payment for online orders and bank transfer for quoted orders. We do not add a surcharge for card payments. Online orders and samples are paid in full at checkout. Bespoke Goods and Business Customer quoted orders require a 50% deposit before production starts, and the balance must be paid before dispatch, unless we have agreed credit terms in writing. The deposit is non-refundable once production starts, except where the goods are faulty or do not match your confirmed specification. Consumers Quoted orders for standard panels keep the right of withdrawal in clause 10.1, and any amount paid for them is refundable under clause 12.

7.5 Business Customers Payment terms and late payment. Full payment is due before dispatch unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Where we have agreed credit terms in writing, invoices are due on the date stated in that agreement. We may charge interest on overdue amounts at the statutory rate for late payment in commercial transactions under Cypriot law, plus reasonable recovery costs, and may suspend deliveries until payment is made. You must pay without set-off or deduction. If you dispute an invoice in good faith, tell us promptly. No interest runs on the disputed amount until it is resolved.

7.6 Duties and taxes outside the EU. We ship outside the EU on a Delivered at Place (DAP) basis without Cyprus VAT. You are responsible for import duties, local taxes, customs fees and customs clearance in the destination country, and should check these before ordering. Online orders can be delivered to the countries listed at checkout; other destinations are supplied by quotation. For the United Kingdom we charge no VAT; UK import VAT and any carrier handling fee are collected from you on delivery. Business Customers outside the EU should give us their EORI or equivalent customs number to avoid clearance delays.

7.7 Promotions and discount codes. A discount code or a promotion applies only to the products, period and conditions stated with it, once per order, and cannot be combined with another code or promotion; where both would apply, the one worth more to you applies. We may withdraw a code at any time before an order is placed. Discounts never reduce the delivery charge unless the promotion says so.

8. Delivery

8.1 Lead times.

  • Round tops are made to order in our Nicosia workshop and dispatched within 4–6 weeks of payment. Other in-stock Products are dispatched within 1 week of payment.
  • Delivery of small parcels within Europe usually takes about 1 week from dispatch. Pallet deliveries and deliveries outside Europe take longer, and we will give you an estimate before you confirm your order.
  • Products not in stock, including cut-to-size and bespoke orders, are made to order. We will confirm the production time in writing before we accept your order, and delivery time is added to it.
  • Samples are dispatched within 1–2 weeks of payment.

Each panel is hand-made, so lead times may be longer at busy periods, and we will tell you of any significant delay before we confirm your order. Business Customers All lead times are estimates. Consumers We will state a delivery date or period in your order confirmation. If none is stated, we will deliver within 30 days of the contract. If we miss the agreed date, you may give us an additional period that is reasonable in the circumstances. If we miss that too, you may end the contract and we will refund you in full without delay.

8.2 How we deliver. Full panels travel on pallets to protect them. Smaller cut pieces, round tops and samples travel by tracked parcel. Standard pallet delivery is kerbside: the carrier delivers to the nearest safe accessible point. Unloading, moving the goods beyond that point and disposing of the pallet and packaging are your responsibility, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

8.3 Access. You must make sure the delivery address is accessible for the vehicle confirmed at order and that someone is present to receive and inspect the goods.

8.4 Failed delivery. If delivery fails because no one is available, access is unsuitable, or delivery is refused or rescheduled at short notice, we may charge the cost of redelivery and storage. Consumers We will tell you of any storage charge before it is incurred. If you do not rearrange delivery within a reasonable time after we contact you, we may end the contract and clause 11.2 will apply.

8.5 Delays outside our control. If an event outside our control delays delivery, we will tell you and take steps to minimise the delay. If the delay is likely to be substantial, you may end the contract and receive a refund for Products paid for but not received.

8.6 Carrier delays after dispatch. Once we hand the Products to the carrier on the dispatch date we confirmed, transit time is outside our control. If the carrier delays delivery, we will chase the carrier, keep you informed and help with any claim against it.

  • Business Customers We are not liable for any delay, or for any cost or loss caused by delay, that arises after we have dispatched the Products on the confirmed date. Risk of loss or damage in transit stays with us until delivery, as set out in clause 9.1.
  • Consumers We are not liable for indirect losses caused by a carrier delay after on-time dispatch. This does not affect your legal right to set us an additional period for delivery and, if the Products still do not arrive, to end the contract and receive a full refund.

9. Risk, ownership and damage in transit

9.1 Risk. Business Customers The Products are your responsibility once they are delivered to the address you gave us, or collected by you or your carrier. Consumers The Products are your responsibility once you, or someone you have named other than the carrier, take physical possession of them. If you arrange your own carrier and it was not offered by us, they are your responsibility from when we hand them to that carrier.

9.2 Ownership. You own the Products only once we have received payment in full.

9.3 Inspect on arrival. Please inspect the delivery before the driver leaves. Note any visible damage or shortage on the delivery note and photograph the pallet and packaging.

9.4 Business Customers Reporting periods. Report visible damage or shortages in writing, with photographs, within 48 hours of delivery. Report concealed damage found on unpacking within 7 days of delivery, keeping the original packaging. Report non-delivery within 7 days of the expected delivery date. We are not liable for transit damage or non-delivery reported outside these periods.

9.5 Consumers Reporting. Please tell us about any damage, shortage or wrong item as soon as possible, with photographs. This does not affect your legal rights for goods that do not conform to the contract (see clause 13.2).

10. Your right to cancel and return

10.1 Consumers 14-day right of withdrawal for standard products. For standard products chosen from our published range, including samples and round tops in our three published tones, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of the day you, or someone you name, take physical possession of the goods, without giving a reason. For orders delivered in instalments, the period runs from receipt of the last item. To withdraw, use the “Withdraw from contract” page on our website, or send us any clear written statement, for example by email or using the form in the Annex. You must then arrange and pay for the return of the goods, using a carrier of your choice, to our returns address, Neas Egkomis 4, Egkomi, 2409 Nicosia, Cyprus, or another address we confirm to you in writing, within 14 days. Panels delivered by pallet cannot be returned by post. We show an estimate of the maximum return cost for pallet deliveries on the product page and at checkout, before you order.

10.2 Consumers No right of withdrawal for cut-to-size and bespoke orders. Under Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, as transposed in Cyprus, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised (“Bespoke Goods”). This includes panels cut to dimensions or shapes you enter or supply (not sizes chosen from a preset list), bespoke colour mixes or finishes, and CNC work to your drawings. Each Bespoke Good is made solely for your order and cannot be resold. We will state on the product page and at checkout that the order is a Bespoke Good, and you will be asked to confirm that you understand you have no right of withdrawal before you pay.

10.3 Custom sizes and other Bespoke Goods are non-refundable. Once we confirm an order for a panel in a custom size or any other Bespoke Good, it cannot be cancelled or refunded, whether or not production has started, unless the goods are faulty or do not match your confirmed specification. This applies to both Consumers and Business Customers. Your rights under clause 13 are not affected.

10.4 Business Customers No change-of-mind returns. Business Customers have no right of withdrawal. Confirmed orders are non-refundable except under clause 13. We may, at our sole discretion, accept the return of unused standard panels in as-delivered condition if you ask in writing within 14 days of delivery. Any accepted return carries a restocking fee of 30% of the invoice value plus the outbound delivery cost, and you pay for return transport.

10.5 Business Customers Goods that cannot be returned (unless faulty or not as ordered): Products that have been cut, drilled, edged, finished, oiled, glued, installed, dry-fitted or trial-cut, or removed from their protective packaging beyond what is needed to inspect them, and offcuts, seconds and sale items. Consumers Handling or working a standard product does not remove your right of withdrawal, but it may reduce your refund under clause 12.3.

10.6 How to return. Send the goods to PIT TO TABLE LTD, Neas Egkomis 4, Egkomi, 2409 Nicosia, Cyprus, with your order number inside the parcel, and email info@pit-to-table.com the tracking number. If you need different arrangements, email us first and we will confirm them within 2 working days. Pack returns with edges and corners protected, equivalent to the original packaging. If goods are damaged in return transit because of poor packaging, we may reduce the refund to reflect the loss in value. Business Customers Goods sent back without our written authorisation will not be accepted. Consumers You do not need our authorisation. Once you have told us you are withdrawing, send the goods back within 14 days.

10.7 If we are at fault. If the goods are faulty, damaged in transit or not what you ordered, we will arrange and pay for collection.

10.8 Samples. Business Customers Samples are non-refundable. Consumers Samples are covered by the 14-day right of withdrawal in clause 10.1. If you withdraw, you arrange and pay for their return.

11. Our right to end the contract

11.1 We may end the contract by writing to you if: (a) you do not pay within 5 days of a reminder that payment is due; (b) you do not give us information we need to supply the Products within a reasonable time of us asking; or (c) you do not allow us to deliver or do not collect the Products within a reasonable time.

11.2 If we end the contract under 11.1, we will refund money paid for Products not supplied, less reasonable compensation for the net costs your breach caused us. For Bespoke Goods already made, this may mean no refund.

11.3 Business Customers Cancelling where we are not at fault. You may cancel before delivery, but we will deduct reasonable compensation for our net costs, including a 15% admin fee. For Bespoke Goods already in production, the full price remains payable.

12. Refunds

12.1 How we refund. We refund to the original payment method. Business Customer refunds may be made by credit note at our discretion.

12.2 Consumers Timing. We refund within 14 days of the day you tell us you are withdrawing. We may hold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have shown evidence of sending them, whichever is earlier. Refunds include the standard outbound delivery charge but not any extra paid for a faster service.

12.3 Consumers Deductions for handling. You may handle the goods as you would in a showroom to establish their nature and characteristics. If the goods have been handled beyond that, for example cut, drilled, oiled or installed, we may deduct an amount reflecting the reduction in their value, as permitted by Article 14(2) of Directive 2011/83/EU. Where the goods can no longer be sold as new, that amount may equal the price. We will explain any deduction in writing.

13. Faulty products

13.1 How to tell us. Email info@pit-to-table.com with your order number, a description of the problem and photographs. We may ask to inspect the Product.

13.2 Consumers Legal guarantee. We must supply Products that conform to the contract: as described, of the quality and fitness normal for goods of that type, fit for any purpose you told us about and we accepted, and matching any sample, subject to the characteristics you accepted under clause 4.8. Under Cyprus Law 154(I)/2021, which implements Directive (EU) 2019/771:

  • we are liable for any lack of conformity that becomes apparent within 2 years of delivery, and a fault that appears within that period is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we prove otherwise;
  • you must tell us about a lack of conformity within 2 months of noticing it;
  • if a fault that is not minor appears within 30 days of delivery, you may reject the goods and end the contract, or ask for an immediate replacement;
  • otherwise, you may choose free repair or replacement, carried out within 25 days of your notice unless you agree to a longer period;
  • if repair or replacement is not possible, fails or is not done in time, you may ask for a price reduction or end the contract, and we will refund you within 30 days of receiving the goods back.

This applies to all orders, including Bespoke Goods, and nothing in these terms affects it.

13.3 Business Customers Warranty on delivery. We warrant that on delivery the Products will (a) conform in all material respects with their description and the Technical Data Sheet, read with clause 4; (b) be of satisfactory quality; and (c) be fit for any purpose you told us in writing and we confirmed in writing.

13.4 Business Customers Remedy. If you notify us in writing within 7 days of delivery that a Product does not meet clause 13.3, give us a reasonable chance to examine it, and return it if we ask, we will at our option repair, replace or refund it. You must not use, cut or install a Product after finding a defect.

13.5 Business Customers Exclusions. We are not liable where the defect arises from: failure to follow our handling, storage, fabrication, finishing, installation or care instructions or good trade practice; a drawing or specification you supplied; fabrication, installation, adhesives, fixings or substrates not supplied by us; exposure to direct heat, prolonged standing water or exterior conditions; fair wear and tear; wilful damage or negligence; or natural variation within the published tolerances. All other warranties and conditions implied by law are excluded to the extent the law allows.

14. Product warranty

14.1 Legal guarantee first. Consumers always have the 2-year legal guarantee in clause 13.2. The commercial warranty in this clause is given in addition to it and does not reduce or replace it.

14.2 Commercial warranty period. We warrant to the original purchaser that pit-board® panels will be free from material manufacturing defects for:

  • 10 years from the invoice date for residential interior use; and
  • 5 years from the invoice date for commercial interior use (including hospitality, retail, office and exhibition),

provided they are fabricated, installed, supported, finished and maintained in line with our Fabrication & Maintenance Guidance. A residential warranty may be transferred to a later owner of the property in which the panels are installed.

14.3 What is covered. A material manufacturing defect means: cracking or splitting not caused by impact, load or inadequate support; warping or bowing beyond the tolerances in the Technical Data Sheet; or breakdown of the binder, crumbling or loss of pits beyond the normal surface character described in clause 4.

14.4 What is not covered. The warranty covers the panel only. It does not cover: the oil or other surface finish, which is a maintenance item; scratches, marks, stains, wear and tear; colour change from light or UV exposure, and natural variation within published tolerances or against samples; damage from heat, hot items placed directly on the surface, or standing water left on the surface; exterior use, or use outside the limits in the Technical Data Sheet; fabrication or installation faults, inadequate support, and adhesives, fixings or substrates not supplied by us; failure to finish, re-oil or maintain the panel as set out in the Fabrication & Maintenance Guidance; accidental or wilful damage, misuse, and the matters listed in clause 13.5.

14.5 How to claim. Notify us in writing within 30 days of discovering the defect, with proof of purchase, photographs and a description of the installation. We may inspect the panel. Claims are not accepted for defects that should reasonably have been noticed before fabrication or installation.

14.6 Remedy. If a claim is accepted, we will at our option supply a replacement panel or refund the price paid for the affected panel. The warranty does not cover labour, removal, reinstallation, transport or other consequential costs.

14.7 Project warranties. For specified commercial projects we may agree a longer or different warranty in writing. A project warranty applies only if signed by us and takes precedence over this clause for that project.

14.8 Full warranty terms are on our Warranty page. If they differ from this clause, this clause applies.

14.9 Warranty certificate. We will send you a warranty certificate in English, by email or on paper, no later than delivery. It states that your legal guarantee rights are not affected, our name and address, how to claim, the Products covered and the conditions of this warranty.

15. Our liability

15.1 What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, liability for defective products under the Cyprus product liability law implementing Directive 85/374/EEC, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

15.2 Consumers We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable. We supply Products to Consumers for domestic and private use only, and are not liable for business losses.

15.3 Business Customers Subject to clause 15.1: (a) we are not liable, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss, including the cost of removing or reinstalling Products; and (b) our total liability under or in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for the Products under that order.

16. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, fire, flood, epidemic, war, civil unrest, strikes, failure of carriers or suppliers, shortage of raw materials (including seasonal olive pit supply), port or customs disruption, and government action. We will tell you promptly and take reasonable steps to limit the effect. If the event lasts more than 60 days, either of us may end the contract and we will refund amounts paid for Products not delivered.

17. Your personal information

We use your personal information only as set out in our Privacy Policy.

18. General

18.1 Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation; we will tell you if this happens and it will not affect your rights. You may transfer your rights only with our written consent, except that a Consumer may pass the product warranty to a later owner of the Product.

18.2 Third parties. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

18.3 Severance. If a court finds any part of these terms unlawful, the rest remains in force.

18.4 No waiver. If we delay in enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later.

18.5 Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.

18.6 Complaints. Email info@pit-to-table.com. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

18.7 Consumers Governing law and disputes. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus. If you live in another EU Member State, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country and may bring proceedings in its courts. You may also contact the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service or a certified alternative dispute resolution body.

18.8 Business Customers Governing law. These terms and any dispute arising from them, including non-contractual disputes, are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the competent courts of the Republic of Cyprus have exclusive jurisdiction.

18.9 Language. These terms are provided in English. Any translation we may publish is for convenience only; if a translation differs from the English text, the English text applies.
